TransGeno group is pleased to announce that our Summer School titled “Basics to Work With Extracellular Vesicles” will be held 21-24 of May 2019.
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are small (30-5000 nm) membrane surrounded structures released by cells. They can contain different molecules such as RNA, DNA and proteins, and are thus suggested to have important role in cell-to-cell communication. As this research field is very young and the methods for EV analysis are unfamiliar to wider scientific community, the EV Summer School aims to introduce the basic methods for working with EVs. The EV Summer School will go through all the steps to work with EVs starting from sample preparation and EV purification until the data analysis of different EV quality and quantity data. A series of seminars and hands-on trainings will be provided, thus a participant would have a thorough overview on different methods applicable at UT. The seminars and hands-on trainings will be held by researchers and PhD students working on different EV projects under the ERA Chair of Translational Genomics at the University of Tartu. Additionally, at least two experts from outside the UT will be involved. The outcome of this Summer School would be knowledge, which helps a student or researcher to plan and conduct a project to study EVs. Additionally, people will create necessary contacts in this research field.
