Senior high students from the High School of Collegium Educationis Revaliae visited our lab and participated in two workshops on October 4th.

What does UV radiation does with your skin? in Biomedicum (Ravila 19, Tartu).

Students observed cells, both damaged by UV radiation and healthy ones. They colored cells with fluorescent compounds and observed them through a fluorescent microscope.

DNA visualization and observation of epithelial tissue in SIME (Translational Medicine Centre, Ravila 14b, Tartu).

Students had the opportunity to have some hands-on activities: DNA spawn visualization, separation of DNA, DNA quality and quantity valuation were taking place. Epithelial cells were taken from the cheek, colored and investigated through the light microscope.
